When spring arrives, we open our windows to enjoy the fresh air and…

clean.

This spring-cleaning season, what needs your attention?

Do you need to clean out the closet that stashes your guilt? The attic that holds your resentments? The containers that store your anger?

Air out your closets, attic and containers. Let go of what holds you back–the guilt, the resentments, the anger. You don’t need them any longer.

Then, fill what’s empty with forgiveness, hope and goals. They’re just what you need.

Yes, sometimes, for instance, I personally do feel anger. And resentment, because I have to hear my mom go on and on grieving for my dad — and I don’t currently have a partner, and it’s not easy to fit in regular socializing into my life where something like that might come about more readily, because of all I do and support — and she had her 58 years of memories with my dad. She had her life, and sometimes I get down that I won’t start living and having mine until — what, I’m about 60? That’s insane. It can be like an emotional leash. But the upside is that the “me” times, the inbetween “oases” moments I have, are so that much sweeter and more special to me — and I experience the gift of gratefulness then.

wow…im so happy I go back to the old weekly comforts every Sunday…its funny because the original happiness challenge this week was to declutter…open up those jammed drawers, closets and make them orderly. When outward things are organized…when you can find those car keys for instance because they are in one place you also get inner calmness. The reverse is also true…when we are hurt, resentful and upset inside our outward world is also chaotic. I found this out on Wednesday. When Im upset believe me it affects the entire home…Its normal and healthy to be upset….we all must let it out somewhere…I also read in denises book this morning under friends…they are the family you choose….what a great line…thank you denise!!…this week Im going to be so appreciative of all of you my friends on caregiving…you all are so special…and honestly it really is true…when I am more peaceful, so is my world…so Im glad I took that hour yesterday to declutter my mind with my feet in the warm water and Im now ready to spring ahead to Monday morning because Im not resentful I had no me time…

Hi–I loved that you treated yourself to a pedicure on Saturday. I have a few “life rules” for myself, one of which is a regular manicure/pedicure. I think it’s important to budget for and enjoy those necessary indulges.

Thank you so much for always be there for us here. :) I’m so grateful to read your comments on Sundays about the Weekly Comforts. They help me keep my perspective.

      Peace!!
