Dear Denise,
How much do home health aides charge? I am not sure what criteria are important. Can you please guide me?
I am very grateful for your help.
Hello,
According to MetLife’s Mature Market Institute, the average hourly rate of home health aides is $20 while homemakers/companions earn $18. Home health aides will have additional training that earns them a certification, which accounts for the hirer hourly rate. MetLife sponsors an annual survey to determine these rates; you can see the full report, which offers hourly rates based on states, here: http://www.metlife.com/mmi/publications/research-studies/index.html?WT.ac=GN_mmi_publications_research-studies (Click on Caregiving and Long-Term Care.)
