It’s a cook-free (and dirty dish-less!) Progressive Party.

Throughout the week of December 6, we’ll stop by the blogs of family caregivers, dropping off holiday well-wishes and good cheer. Our party also includes companies that provides services and/or products to help family caregivers.

Because no party is complete without presents, we’ve got prizes! We’re giving away an autographed copy of Denise’s books, The Caregiving Years, Six Stages to a Meaningful Journey and Take Comfort, Reflections of Hope for Caregivers. The grand prize is three free coaching sessions with Denise. Stop by when the party starts (December 6) to learn how to win.

On Caregiving.com, five family caregivers share their days through their own blogs:

  • Derek cares for his parents
  • Gary cares for his mother
  • Sharon cares for her husband
  • Skye cares for her husband

On December 6, be sure to stop here to begin our progressive party. We’ll have links to participating websites, simply visit the sites, sharing comfort, cheer and your story as you click along. Our party lasts one week so you’ll have plenty of visiting time.

Are you a family caregiver who blogs interested in being one of our hosts during the blog party? We’d love to have you along! Simply:

1. Read our guidelines.

2. Add your website information through “Mister Linky” (below):

I put my blog up (I am number 3) and would like to participate in the holiday progressive party.
However, I cannot afford to donate a prize. Is that OK? If not, please delete me. Thanks! :-)

ok! I will try back too. The trip was great, wonderful wedding and time with sons, oldest couldn’t make it though! But on the homefront, there were a lot of upsetting events going on concerning my mom’s care! I will no doubt be blogging about it soon while they are still freshly churning in my mind!

I was on Kaye’s website it is awesome! I immediately booked marked it a favorite! I will go back when I have a bit more time to read more of the posts and info there. Took interest in the post about traveling with seniors, but then I had to stop and think, is it referring to ‘senior’ me, or ‘very senior’ my mom? lol Anyhow it is a good article. I look forward to reading more!

John Mills web site – One Approach to Caregiving: Irreverent Humor Kelly O’Brien – November 04, 2009
I so agree with the need for humor, I don’t know if I would call it irreverent or not, but my husband and I will make comments in refference to mom, which are semi-humorous to us, but in actuality they are a way to vent the real pain that lies beneath. Others are often shocked, appalled at some of the comments we make, such as “I am going to sell mom to the highest bidder” Obvioiusly, I am not having a good time, and I am stressed, so ‘jokingly’ I might make such a statement to relieve some of the stress. People don’t get it though, even when you try to explain to them, don’t be shocked, we don’t mean it, it is just a way to release steam!

Comments left on Linda’s and Donna’s blogs…still can’t leave one on Heidi’s though. Read some of Skye’s blogs last night too. Haven’t posted comments yet though. Delore’s site doesn’t even come up, so a problem there I guess.
