Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving service in our church Thanksgiving morning. There was lots of sharing of things people were thankful for via power point. (things people had submitted in written form earlier.) There were also some people who stood up and gave verbal thanks. It was a very moving service.

Then we went to our son and daughter-in-law’s house for the afternoon. Some years we travel for Thanksgiving, but this year we stayed close to home. This son of ours lives only a couple miles away from us. So at our Thanksgiving gathering there was my husband, Wayne; me; my son; his wife; their 4 kids; and another family that they had invited. It was a great day! Our son’s family hosted our small gathering, but I also contributed a lot of the food. Later after the other family that they had invited left we watched a movie together.

I think my husband, Wayne, enjoyed Thanksgiving Day also, but he has been doing a lot of sleeping during the day the last couple days. So maybe it wore him out. He was really lethargic about doing his exercises today also. That among other things was a bit frustrating today! He perked up a little this afternoon after he went outside on his mobility scooter for awhile. Actually I was tired too today. I managed to sneak in a little nap this afternoon. It was much needed as I have been on the go non-stop lately.

I put up our little Christmas tree and a few decorations yesterday. It is hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. Another son, his wife, and little daughter from London are going to be flying home for Christmas on Dec 14. They will be in the area until the 31rst. They will be staying in our local son’s family home, as we have just a small apartment. Hopefully our son’s family from IA will also be able to come out Christmas week-end if the weather permits. If this all comes together this will be the first time in many years that we ALL are together at Christmas.

Im so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Sharon. I think we all feel a little tired after a holiday. That is normal. Its our bodies telling us it needs a little vacation so Im happy you had the opportunity to rest with a nap. Your christmas plans sound equally wonderful. wishes come true…that is why the candles are on our birthday cake every year and we are told to blow them out and make a wish!!…I wish you a very happy holiday season…may the merry bells keep ringing…happy holidays to you….keep the song in your heart ….you have a wonderful family and I so love hearing your stories of them all:)
