Today on Your Caregiving Journey, we had our book club discussion. This month, we read “My Mom Has Alzheimer’s: Inspiration and Help for Caregivers” by Linda A. Born. Linda joined us for a live discussion of her book; you can listen to our discussion via the player at the bottom of the post. (You can purchase Linda’s book in our store.)
I loved our discussion so will encourage you to listen to our show by not providing many details here. I will tell that Linda wrote her book while caring for her mom. We often talk about how much caregiving can “steal” (see today’s comfort: Elevator) so it was wonderful to hear that, even during difficult times, we can carve out time for our dreams. Dreams can come true, even while caregiving.
I loved this show! Your guest had such wonderful insights, and she certainly struck a chord in my heart.
I cannot wait to listen to this. I have postponed almost all my goals and dreams because I didn’t think I could do it while in my caregiving role.

Miss R, I too have postponed my own goals and dreams because of caregiving duties. During the interview I said that I had indeed thought to one day pursue the goal of becoming a published author–but a book about caregiving was certainly not the one I intended to write. This was a case of lemonade from lemons, as my mom would say. If the blogtalkradio player isn’t showing up at the bottom of Denise’s post, you can listen to the interview here.
