It’s Friday, so let’s share some funnies. What’s a humorous experience that’s happened to you in your caregiving role? It could be something that happened years ago or just yesterday, as long as today it makes you giggle. We’ll giggle with you.

Please share in our comments section.

And, we’ll give away a We Break from Me! mug from our We Break for Me store to one person who shares.

(Reminder: What’s bugging you? At 3:00 p.m. CT today, we share what’s bugging us. Use this hashtag: #carevent and join us in TweetChat.)

I was putting some smelly tea tree oil on Gram’s tummy the other day. For any of you who have smelled it before, you know what I’m talking about. It has a very strong, medicinal scent which most people don’t like. However, it’s very useful.

Anyway, Gram hadn’t been able to speak much for a few days. I was applying the oil to her stomach and was attempting to be positive as I said, “It’s sort of like Mentholatum, Gram. It’s really not too bad. In fact, maybe it sort of smells good!”

Gram, who had barely formed two words all day, looked right up into my eyes and said, clear as day, “What planet are YOU from?!?” and let out a light chuckle.

Hahahaha! I was so taken aback, as it was completely unexpected…though very much in keeping with her sense of humor.

Oh my goodness, when I first read this, I saw only that you were putting smelly tea on her tummy, and how well it worked…! I thought what is smelly tea and what does it do for her??? Well then I went back and re-read it! Ok… Maybe I come from the same planet? Isn’t it something how they can go so many hours, even days without saying a word, then when you aren’t expecting it…pow, some comment or even a sarcastic haha comes out! You just never know do you?!
