Friday Fun: Give Us the Guffaws

Posted by
|

It’s Friday, so let’s share some funnies. What’s a humorous experience that’s happened to you in your caregiving role? It could be something that happened years ago or just yesterday, as long as today it makes you giggle. We’ll giggle with you.

Please share in our comments section.

And, we’ll give away a We Break from Me! journal from our We Break for Me store plus an autographed copy of Denise’s book, “Take Comfort, Reflections of Hope for Caregivers” to one person who shares.

(Reminder: What’s bugging you? At 3:00 p.m. CT today, we share what’s bugging us. Use this hashtag: #carevent and join us in TweetChat.)

well, I did a practical joke on kevin tonight and mom thought it was soooo funny….she was actually in on it also so I thought since its Friday why not share.
We watch jeopardy every single night…it is very rare that I EVER get an answer but Kevin who is smart rattles them off one after another….well one of our cable channels airs jeapordy at 5PM…abc airs it at 7 so Mom and I watched the early edition and I sat with a pen and pad and wrote down all the answers…
7:00 rolled around and we all began to watch…I didnt answer the first few because I did not want to look obvious but then began answering every other one correct and he looked at me and said very good ..mom was trying so hard not to laugh…the next round came and I answered more and kevin started looking like whats going on here but didnt say anything…he didnt know it was on earlier at that point…all of a sudden I just started rattling off the answers where it was clear something was up…he finally said, did you go on line or see this somewhere lol….mom and I burst out laughing…he said well its good actually you remembered all the answers….we laughed even harder when I showed him the pad and paper…
i know…its a silly story…but we really had fun tonight

Hi Donna–I read your story last night as I ended my day. It was a great way to end it. I love that your mom was a willing conspirator. You are a great story-teller. :)

I feel like I have been a “moaner” today, sorry, so thought I should share something on the lighter side…Giving my mother a shower is always a bit of a challenge. She does not like them and usually once or twice during the shower, someone is banging on the bathroom door: Mom!… Mom!… This particular shower was a bit different. I try and stay on the other side of the curtain as much as I can to give my mother some privacy, and as I was holding the nozzle for her I happened to look down…all I saw was our cat’s leg sticking out of the shower. During the shower Zinnia had decided to climb in with my mother! Certainly made for a brighter shower time!
