Yesterday on Your Caregiving Journey, Ellen Rogin, our wealthness expert shared ways we can be a leader in our financial life. (You can listen to our show via the player at the bottom of this post.)
Here’s how:
Learn more. What’s the one question you ask about money? Start there—and then learn more. A great resource: www.learnvest.com
Earmark savings for your future. An automatic savings plan is like an underground sprinkler for your lawn; before you know it, you’ll have a lush lawn. When you commit to regular savings that happen automatically, you create a green financial future.
Appreciate what you have. What you appreciates, appreciates.
Design a financial plan that works for you. Consider: What do you need to create the financial life you want? What are the steps? What step can you take today?
Envision your future. And, then, picture yourself in your future.
Responsibility for your reality. Avoid blaming; acknowledge your role in your life.
And, remember, wherever you are in your financial life is just where you are. It’s a fact, not a judgment on you if you are not exactly where you want to be. Your financial life, like all parts of your life, is a work in progress. Even better: Your financial life can be just what you want.
