The Memory Ensemble Debuts in Chicago June 21

If you live in the Chicagoland area and your caree suffers from both memory loss and the acting bug, consider a new eight-week program opening June 21.

The Memory Ensemble, an improvisational theater program for persons with memory loss, will meet weekly for eight weeks this summer. The pilot research program, sponsored by Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Lookingglass Education and Community Programs, will teach participants to use their instincts, creativity and spontaneity as they work together to explore and create improvisational theater. Lookingglass Ensemble members and CNADC staff will lead the workshops.

No improvisation, performance or acting experience is required.

Sessions provide:
• Improvisational acting instruction
• Engaging the mind/brain in new ways
• Opportunities for creative expression
• Social engagement
• Emotional support network

A fee applies but scholarships are available.
