Five Traits of Well-Being

Posted by
|

This morning on Your Caregiving Journey, Anna Stookey, our emotional wellness expert, joined us to discuss the five traits of well-being: Hope, gratitude, curiosity, zest and capacity to love/be loved. You can listen to our show via the player at the bottom of the post.

As always with Anna, I had a few “ah-ha” moments, especially about the relationship between our ability to accept love and our ability to accept help. We discussed how the four traits of well-being build from our capacity to love and be loved. And, when we accept love (and help) from others, we allow them to fulfill one of their basic needs (to love).

I would love to hear your comments about our show. How will you use this definition of well-being in your caregiving role?

Program Note: Table Talk airs tomorrow at 9 a.m. We’re talking about inspiration. So, I’d love to know: Who in your life inspires you? Why? And, how do you use that inspiration to be better? Send me an email with your thoughts.

Denise, Listened to this late last night. (Brother had a bad evening.) I am so grateful for all that you do in bringing us these messages and setting up this site and lists to bring caregivers together.
    Thank you. :-)
