How… Will You Be Happy Today?

Posted by
|

On Saturdays, we take time to enjoy as many moments of happiness as we can. If it’s just one moment, we’ll take it. If it’s 30 moments, even better.

So, today, how will you be happy? Tell us so you can inspire others to do the same.

Updates:

Table Talk aired this morning; you can listen to a quick show on inspiration via the player at the bottom of the post. And, our next show airs Monday, July 26, at 11:30 a.m. CT. Donna Ryan will join us to discuss how she’s breaking for summer.

Voices of Caregiving is our July Caregiving Book Club pick. Our book club discussion will take place on Your Caregiving Journey over two days: Tuesday, July 27, at 1 p.m. CT and Wednesday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m. CT.

I am not going to have to do my errands and shopping alone this afternoon, I am going with my son and grandsons! May take a bit longer and be a little noisier…but I won’t be alone! :)

We spent the afternoon at my son’s family’s house today. We had a picnic outside under a couple of shady trees. What was unique was that my son grilled a turkey on the outside fryer. They wanted to get rid of a turkey from their freezer, so they could make room for some of their garden produce which will be coming pretty soon. So we had Thanksgiving in July!

We actually went around the picnic table and told what we were thankful for. I said I was thankful for my grandkids and that I will be a three year survior of breast cancer tomorrow. (Three years ago tomorrow I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and you are considered a survior from when you were diagnosed. I am two years post treatment this past April.)

What made this exercise even most meaningful to me was that my husband said he was thankful for his wife and how well she takes care of him. He really never says thanks, so that was a beautiful moment for me. Everyone was a little choked up. Also my husband’s speech is so poor among a host of other problems. So that made the moment extra special.

wow!! Im late today…but Im so happy to have just listened to todays show as well as read all of your happy times today.
Donna…so glad you went shopping with your son and grandson…it doesnt matter how long the errands take…your together…hope it went well…
gj…congrats on those great scores on your sons pictures…you have so much to be proud of…
sharon…my goodness…three years today being a cancer survivor…talk of happy…Im so happy…and that turkey sounds pretty good too
as for me, today we did errands most of the day but I watched two movies afterwards….one was on the oxygen network….secrets of the ya ya sisters….actually that was confusing…i missed the first ten minutes and got a brief phoneh call in the middle but it confused me…if anyone saw it I would love to chat about it…
we also rented the blind side…wow…now that was great…i so enjoyed that movie….

I was thinking the other day, my son said on Friday I love this new job mom but am sure looking forward to the weekend…I hugged him and said, I know Sean…its been real hot and you have had to do a lot with that suit and tie on….
it then occured to me…new job, weekend…
Im not in a position right now to look for that new and exciting job…none of us carees can I suppose…and a weekend? that isnt any different from the other five days for us.
well..maybe we cant change jobs but we can make the one we have feel more exciting…and yes, we can acknowledge the weekend once in a while.
so tomorrow Im heading for the beach for a little while…just kevin and I….Im not cooking, cleaning, ironing, doing laundry…nothing!!…Im happy to say I am going to enjoy a whole Sunday….and Im taking the day off!!!!….
Sean will be home tomorrow to visit with mom a bit….so we can escape for a little while……
Im glad you all had a happy saturday and hope it continues through sunday!!!!!…
Im officially on vacation for 24 hours:) YIPPEE
