Parade

Do you feel sometimes that you sit on a lawn chair as the parade of life passes you by?

You watch as the floats roll by: Retirement, Vacations, Carefree Days, Saturday Night Dates. The worst to watch, though, are the ones that seem to make up an easier life: Guilt-Free, Stress-Free, Worry-Free.

Rather than watching a parade that brings pain, choose to participate in a different kind of ceremony, one which reflects your place in life right now. Perhaps your celebration honors your values: Family, Responsibility, Sensitivity. And, perhaps the grand marshal of your parade is Purpose, because while you feel may life passes you by, you actually live life as it’s meant to be lived—with meaning and conviction.

And, then, make plans right now to build the other floats—the ones which may have to wait a bit—for your parade to come.

I like this blog. It is so easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of caregiving, and yet our life has a real purpose. Right now we are exactly where we are supposed to be and doing what we are supposed to be doing. It is not just meaningless drudgery. It has divine purpose.
