Prayer for Mom….and Me….

Posted by
|

Mom has been very congested since yesterday.  No food today, only sleeping.  Don’t think I will get her meds in either if she won’t eat.  Oxygen has been brought should we need it.  Running a low temp.  Nurse came last night and twice today, coming tomorrow.  She was so hot this morning between the temp and a faulty pump on her air bed that was putting out too much warm air.  That is replaced now.

She didn’t move during the night which resulted in about 4, blister/pressure areas, some are diminishing well, others I will have to watch and treat.  Waiting for antibiotic to be called in for her and Gary will go get it.  Trick will be to get it in her mouth…going to use medicine dropper.  Don’t think I will be able to sleep solid tonight, will need to move her at some point during the night, once or twice.   This was not expected…came very quick….I’m tired….

Thanks everyone. Got rest last night. Went in to see mom little after 5 this morning. She opened her eyes right away and looked at me, big change from yesterday. Her temp is lower again, the antibiotic is working, she is still quite congested, and not happy when she has to cough, but she is able to rest well. I hope to get some of her nutritional drink in her with a dropper today. She is not wanting to open her mouth right now, but maybe later she will. If not I will do what I can. The sores are almost gone too, just have to keep an eye on those area, keep them cushioned and turn her enough throughout the day, without disturbing her too much. The nurse will be again this morning, so she will check her vitals and lungs again. I’ll update later today. Thanks again, your prayers and support give strength.
