We Break for Summer! Starts Today

Posted by
|

It’s July so that means it’s time for We Break for Summer!. We’ll celebrate summer while encouraging you to take a break (even a short five-minute one) daily to do something just for you or about you. Our special week begins today and ends July 31.

We’re also making a celebration a chance for you to win, with contests taking place on our Facebook fan page, on Twitter, on Your Caregiving Journey talk show, and on our website. We’re also holding a special free webinar for you. And, you can buy “We Break” products, like mugs, t-shirts and a great canvas bag, in our store to keep the celebration going. Thanks to Donna W for the great design decorating the products.

Here are the We Break for Summer! details:

Facebook contest:
Print out our We Break for Summer! photo, take a break while posing with the print-out and then take a picture. (I’ve posted an example, featuring Yours Truly on a break from a Chicago Coach Federation board meeting, here. Your break will be more exciting than the one I took in the hallway).

Post your photo on our Facebook fan page; one winner will receive a $25 gift Visa card. Contest begins July 25 and ends July 31; we’ll announce a winner on August 1. We’ll also share your photos on Caregiving.com, so take a break and post your photo as soon as you can.

Twitter contest:
Tweet daily after you take a break (even if for five minutes); in your tweet, tell us what you did and include this hashtag: #carebreak. We’ll choose a daily winner to receive a copy of Take Comfort, Reflections of Hope for Caregivers. Be sure to follow us on Twitter.

On Your Caregiving Journey:
On Monday, July 26, at 11:30 a.m. CT and Saturday, July 31, at 9 a.m. CT, we’ll air two special episodes of Your Cargiving Journey to talk to you about your summer break.

Free Webinar:
Title: Breaking the Daily Grind
Date: Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM CDT

In our 2010 Annnual Family Caregiver survey, you told us that the day-to-day grind is the most stressful part of caregiving. We’ll share tips and ideas to break down that daily grind so you welcome, rather than dread, the next day.

On Caregiving.com
Each day during We Break for Summer!, we’ll post a question on Caregiving.com. Here’s the schedule of questions:

We’ll give away a prize daily—a beautiful gift basket—on our website to one of our visitors who posts an answer to our question. Be sure to visit and comment to win! Our prize is a beautiful gift basket.

We’ll update the site regularly about our special week so please to visit often to learn more.

Would you like to donate a prize for our contests? Great! Email Denise with your donation.
