We’re taking time this week to reflect and to enjoy some down time. We’re also posing daily questions which prod reflection or action.
Today’s question is: What needs your attention (your water, so to speak)?
Caregiving will make you wish for a clone. Without the help of a clone, something or someone slips from your radar. Today, water what needs your attention: A relationship, a goal, a dream. Perhaps your soul needs some watering. Today, make time for what or who needs your attention.
Water. Then, tell us about it in our comments section.
When you share in our comments section, you’ll be entered into a chance to win a great gift basket. Congratulations to Francine who won yesterday’s gift basket! And, be sure to check out our We Break for Summer! merchandise in our store; celebrate with a t-shirt or mug designed by our own Donna Webb. Shop here.
Abrah, Rees and Marah need my attention today (undivided). (: We are getting ready to go on vacation; they are excited and want to help with all the planning and packing today. It’s okay that I am not always conscious of the attention that my mother is or is not getting (I worry a lot about that). We are here and that is a good thing. (:
My husband, who is my caree needs my attention. He can’t get out of bed to start his day without me. And then there’s our little dog, she needs my attention too – to take care of her daily needs! Two little grandchildren who just live blocks away, love the attention they get here, and I love giving it! My sprinkling can is empty – little time for “watering” myself!
Yesterday I spent most of the day sleeping, Mon and Tues had 3 kids here, and Tuesday it was a nuthouse with them, did me in, hence the sleeping most of yesterday. Today is quiet, going to tend to me and what I enjoy, which is writing/blogging, working on my upcoming blogtalkradio show, and working on my new store, all very satisfying and therapeutic! Might even get my hair cut and colored today too! So, I am watering me!
Between our need to go out and get my husband a haircut and new shoes this week, three therapy sessions, and a couple other commitments, it is proving to be a very busy week. Today we had no outside commitments like that.
So I did run a few errands and took care of some home responsibilities today. These I was able to do at a more relaxed pace, however. I also took a little time to feed or water my soul and refresh my body. This morning I took some time to watch a DVD of our church service last Sunday night which was very meaningful to me. It was based on Romans 8 which to me is a very meaningful and comforting passage from the Bible. Later I was able to take some time to listen to one of Denise’s shows and read a book just for pleasure for awhile.
