What Will You Dip Into Today?

Posted by
|

We’re breaking for summer!

Today’s question is: What activity/interest will you take a dip in today?

Perhaps you haven’t picked up your camera (and you love photography) in months. Maybe the knitting needles, which used to be such a comforting companion, stay silent. Or, that book you really wanted to read remains unopened. Perhaps your journal has too many empty pages.

Today, take a dip into an activity or interest. Snap the photos. Start the blanket. Open the book. Write your story. Then, let us know what you did. When you share in our comments section, you’ll be entered into a chance to win a great gift basket.

Have fun!

P.S. And, as we use this week to remind you to take time for yourself and to reflect, we know others, like Skye, face really sad and difficult times. Skye keeps going. So, too, do we. We do our best to make every day we have a good one. Skye writes today, “Every day with a meaning, every day a destination.” And, that’s just the goal of We Break for Summer!.

I also took a couple shots of our special kitty Sam as he has claimed a spot on top of our freezer in-between the cookers and big kettle. lol

I read a piece on my daily thoughts prayer book this morning and thought I would share just a piece of it….

Nobody is a whole orchestra. Each person is an musician
but take away one musician and the symphony is incomplete. We all need each other. You need someone, and someone needs you!..

I have dipped into the fact we are all in this pool together and while words comfort I need more hands on support as well….at least for myself….what a better time to have figured this out then breaking for summer….

Im looking forward to hearing back from the social worker and seeing what that brings me…..I believe I have dipped into something very well worth waiting on!!…..

I also have dipped into the fact that I can’t do it all alone. I am running a marathon not a short sprint with this disease of my husband, and I need to pace myself. My husband requires me now to help him every time he goes to the bathroom and into bed.

So as you may remember I am now having a caregiver come in for an hour twice a week at bedtime to help with my husband. Well, I think my caregiving helper is going to work out just fine. She came for first on Tuesday night. That night she just observed me. Last night she basically did everything herself. She asked a few questions about his clothing etc. but that was it. She helped him on to the toliet, onto his shower bench and out of the shower again, and she helped him into bed She seems to know what she is doing, as she has CNA training.

It’s not that I can’t do this, but it is just HAVING to do this every night and never being able to go away that gets to a person. This will be a wonderful break.

I would prefer not to have someone come into my home, so I am approaching this cautiously. I am sort of dipping my feet in the water. I am excited about the little respite this will give me every week, however.
