In honor of National Family Caregivers Month (November), we’re getting together in Chicago! We’ll meet for two days of learning, sharing and comforting on Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, November 7, at Sunrise Assisted Living, 2710 N. Clark St., Chicago.

Sunrise is donating its meeting space and will provide a continental breakfast and lunch on both days. The facility has a beautiful meeting room with adjoining deck and garden. (I’m hoping we’ll have a warm fall and can hold off the arrival of winter until November 8.)

We’ll plan on meeting on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and then again on Sunday morning from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. You’ll have time for R&R and sight-seeing Saturday afternoon and evening. You can view our agenda here. You also can listen to our discussion of the conference on Your Caregiving Journey via the player at the bottom of the post.

If you will be attending from out-of-town, I’ve arranged a group rate for a hotel that’s a five-minute walk from Sunrise. You’ll find details at the bottom of this post. I’m also working on getting reduced rates for respite care for your caree. I’ll keep you posted. You also can contact home care agencies and assisted living/nursing homes in your community for respite. You can search our directory to find these options.

Our conference is limited to just 30 family caregivers. The cost of the two-day conference is $39.95. To reserve your space, click the “Buy Now” button, below. Please also let me know if you will be traveling from out-of-town. I’ll email you an invoice for the conference costs. If you have to cancel your reservation, I can offer a full refund up until November 3.

Once you reserve your spot at the conference, I’ll be in touch with agenda details, sightseeing ideas and regular updates.

    Denise,
Thank you so much for planning something like this for us! I am excited about attending. (: What better way to fine tune my coping tools than with meeting other caregivers and you! We are so lucky to have this opportunity, I am going to begin to find coverage for here, today. (:
