Yesterday was Kevins birthday and Sean took hom out for a nice father and son breakfast. When they returned Kevin showed me the card Sean gave him with the most beautiful note that brought tears to my eyes. He wrote how he was so glad to have Kevin as his dad, that he hopes that he can be half as good a father to his children one day as Kevin is to him as well as thanking him for working so hard for us. He wrote me a similar note on my birthday that I store in my journal. It is at times hard for men to express their feelings and here this soon to be macho police officer is writing mushy things to mom and dad in a handwritten note. That sensitivity makes me enormously proud and happy….
Not to mention, who writes hand written notes anymore…very special indeed…
We are going to a german restaurant tomorrow…Kevins boss has been bugging him to take the family out on him to congratulate sean on getting into the academy. We were supposd to go way back in July and just didnt get to it so tomorrow it is….I will try to take a nice picture to share….
and we are waiting for kevins niece to have her baby…She was admitted around 7AM but little baby Abigail must be comfortable right where she is because we are all still waiting…after dinner tomorrow we are hoping to go to the hospital and meet her.
So…Life is Good Im Happy To Say!!!!
I just got back from watching our son at a taekwondo belt test. In a few hours we are going to our friends house for a party. I plan to relax and enjoy it!
I got a ferret today! I have wanted one for years, my son and his ex needed to find a home for theirs and ta dah! Wokwok has a new home, complete with 3 cats….lol Mama kitty and Sam are quite interested in Wokwok, like her food too. Ruby is in hiding yet and does not even know the ferret is here! Will be real interesting to see how she reacts since she is afraid of everything! So, that was a happy thing today.
My husband, Wayne, seemed to have a good morning after his “sleep recharge” yesterday. I got him convinced to go outside this morning for awhile in his new mobility chair. He seemed to enjoy that a lot. Our neighbors were outside too, and Wayne was showing off his new chair to them. I also sat outside for awhile. It was such a beautiful morning. This afternoon Wayne was somewhat wiped out again, however, and he is slept again a few hours.
I also went to a “Gibson Girl” Estate sale just a couple houses down from us today. I love garage sales, and this is sort of like that. I was able to get a few nice things.
