What Will Today Bring?

What will today bring? It is my birthday today. Yesterday I received an early birthday card from one of my sisters. Yesterday I also received a beautiful card and a bouquet of flowers from my new female friend (my Stephen minister). I also had a great talk with her. I have met with her twice now, and I really like her very much.

I also have already received a handful of birthday greetings on Facebook and had a good devotional time this morning. The sun is shining brightly, and it is a beautiful day. So thus far it has been a good start for the day.

I would love for my husband, Wayne, and I to go out to eat today for my birthday. We will have to see how fatigued my husband is today, however, in order to know if this will work. So far he is still sleeping. Often the day after therapy he is wiped out the next day and needs to sleep away the day. He had therapy yesterday, so he may be wiped out today.

Wayne also is set to have a new mobility chair from the Scooter Store delivered today, so I hope he is alert enough for this also and that this proves to be a blessing to him in the days ahead.

What will today bring? In many ways the joy of the day will depend on my attitude and going with the flow. Joy is a choice. Thank You, Lord, for my physical and spiritual life. Thank You for always being there for me.

Happy Birthday Sharon! I hope you and your husband are able to go out for dinner. It’s interesting how such a “small outing” can mean so much to a caregiver. I really hope that will come for you! (:

It was a wonderful birthday! My husband’s mobility chair didn’t come until after 3:00 this afternoon. But then after that we were able to go to our local Pizza Ranch for supper. My sister-in-law accompanied us, and she helped Wayne make all his selections in the buffet line. She also pushed him in and out of the restaurant, put the wheelchair in and out of the car, and was good company.

Later my local son and his family came over for awhile. My granddaughters all brought me their home made cards and gifts from the Dollar Store that they had bought with their own money. They also brought over cake. My sister-in-law also came for awhile. While they were here my son from IA called, and I was able to talk with him and my IA granddaughters for awhile.

One other blessing of the day besides a couple phone calls and many Facebook greetings was a absolutely perfect and awesome rainbow tonight. I have not seen such a awesome rainbow in a long time. That was topped off with a beautiful sunset. That was God’s birthday gift to me today.

Thank you also to all my caregiving friends for your birthday greetings!
