First of all thanks to EVERYONE who contributed to the caregifting project for this month (me). I have bought a pair of shoes that came complete with soles, and my back and knees are thanking you. I also made an appointment for the dentist to take care of the dental pain. The rest of the money, at this point, I am setting aside to pay for respite help. I have decided to train one person to come in and get Mary through her dinner and sit and watch Jeopardy with her. Then, once a month, I can go to a meeting or to dinner at a friend’s home, or whatever. I cannot tell you how wonderful this will be, and how much I appreciate your having made it possible.

Because of my computer problems (it has now died and I am using a neighbor’s), I have not been able to post anything. I am hoping to catch up soon. Fortunately, a friend of one of Mary’s daughters owes her a favor and is fixing up a laptop to sell to me for $20 (!).

Because I have been using the computers at the library, which is open only a few hours a day and where I am only allowed 30 minutes at a time, I have not been able to keep up with all your posts, and have really missed you. You have never been far from my thoughts and heart.

Mary is in a very quiescent period right now, and it feels like the calm before the storm. Before the computer died, I tried to write about some situations I wanted to share and issues that have come up that I need your input on, but the posts wouldn’t post. So I am going to be playing catch-up when the laptop arrives.
