Very Soon…

Yesterday afternoon about 2:00, Mom’s breathing changed drastically. The nurse was there within half an hour, and said that Mom was in her last hour or two. Mom is still here, but we are very close. She seems comfortable.
The evening was filled with lots of family (all four kids and most of the grandchildren, even the oldest great-grandchild), our pastor and his wife, and a harpist.
I slept (?) holding her close last night. My brother is here now, and I’m off to get a bath and some sleep.
We’re okay. Just want that freedom for Mom that I spoke about in my last post.
Hospice is incredible through this, and our new nurse is compassionate, helpful and knowledgeable. She’s also been very respectful of Mom’s and my decisions.
Thank you, all, for your concern and support for Mom and I.

I fully trust that as the transition time moves forward and the “hole” in the universe opens, that you will feel the peace of your prayers – your mom’s freedom from pain, and your full awareness of the spectacular job you and your family are doing. I’m thinking of y’all (hey, I lived in Baltimore for a while) tonight.

Hello, Margo here! Alive Hospice is excellent in giving family great support, and they have great for the care for the patient. I just went through this with my mother-in-law. It was not easy, and words cannot express what you are going through. My mother-in-law was a very sweet and caring. She was just like a mother to me. She will be truly missed but what helps comfort me is to know that she is not in anymore pain. I am a Family Caregiver and I take care of my mom. I just want to say to you..May God Bless you and your family and keep you in His care! My prayers are with you!
