Pat Summitt Discusses Her Diagnosis

Posted by
|

Pat Summitt, who coaches the women’s basketball team at University of Tennessee, sat with a reporter from The Washington Post to discuss her diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.  She announced her diagnosis yesterday as well as her plans to continue coaching. The 59-year-old Summitt has more wins than anyone else in college basketball history, woman or man.

I thought you’d like to watch the interview with Pat and her 20-year-old son, Tyler. (Thanks, Laura, for sending me a link to this video.) The reporter, Sally Jenkins, is a long-time friend of Summitt’s; you can read her article about the diagnosis here.

What an awesome son she has. I guess he gets it from her.
