Today’s the last day we break for summer!
So, we’re ending on a fun note. Today’s question is: How will you play today?
You can play an instrument, play a board game, play cards, play tag or play a favorite song.
Or, maybe you’ll take a playful attitude.
You can play for a minute or two hours; it’s not about the time but about the doing. Play, then share in our comments section for your last chance to...
We’re breaking for summer!
We’re taking time this week to reflect and to enjoy some down time. We’re also posing daily questions which prod reflection or action.
Today’s question is: What activity will you enjoy with your caree?
It can seem like all you and your caree often play a game of cat and mouse. Today, though, enjoy a game that allows you both to enjoy, to relax, to be beyond the disease or injury...

We walked into the rehab room and Sandy greeted us. I had talked to her twice in the past couple of weeks on the phone. We went into a classroom and she went over what Nicole would be doing. Nicole and I had to watch a video and then Sandy went over the paperwork that I had filled out along with some other releases and such.
We talked about what rehab would be like and scheduled her first session for Sept. 15th...

Here’s a recap of the week. I will do a separate blog about Nicole’s rehabilitation evaluation as that is kind of long. This week was a slow week in terms of appointments. It is hectic in terms of changes and the difficulties that we will face in the future.
On Tuesday night we went and signed the papers for bankruptcy. We decided to include our cell phones in the bankruptcy as we are under contract and...

We’ve had a few changes here in the last week or so. The kids began school – we had been cyber schooling over the last four years, so this is quite an adjustment for each of us. Marah had never been to school.
Abrah’s first two days were the hardest for her. She doesn’t eat lunch alone anymore and can open her locker pretty quickly. (: Rees is doing well, making new friends, although he...
This morning on Your Caregiving Journey, Ellen Rogin, our wealthness expert and author of “Great with Money: The Women’s Guide to Prosperity,” joined me to answer this question: What makes an individual great with money? (You can listen to our show via the player at the bottom of the post.)
We began our conversation with a definition of “great with money.” It’s not about how much...
Bette has diligently contacted the media in her area to share her story and talk about Caregiving.com (isn’t that awesome?). Her efforts have paid off; the fall issue of Susquehanna Life magazine features Bette’s story.
The article is only available in print, but Bette scanned the two-page story for us. You can read page one here and page two here.
Congrats, Bette!! A job well done!

In yesterday’s free webinar, “Escape! Taking a Break Without Taking a Leave,” I shared the feelings you may have in your day and in your caregiving role that become too much. You need to escape from them. I offered suggestions on where you can escape to. (Did you miss the webinar? No worries! It’s archived here for you.)
I’d love to know: What will you escape from? And to whom (or...

We’re breaking for summer!
We’re taking time this week to reflect and to enjoy some down time. We’re also posing daily questions which prod reflection or action.
Today’s question is: What needs your attention (your water, so to speak)?
Caregiving will make you wish for a clone. Without the help of a clone, something or someone slips from your radar. Today, water what needs your attention: A relationship,...
In September, our action word is Forgive.
Forgiving is about releasing yourself from past pain and walking into your today with compassion and peace. I think September is a great month to work on forgiveness so that you can enter the holiday months with acceptance and calm. Forgiveness will help you enjoy the holidays.
For me, I’m going to forgive:
1. My older sister. Forgiving my older sister is an ongoing...
