Everyone is Fine

This is the follow up to my post “Holidaze”
Dad is back in his facility and resting comfortably. No specific caused found his seizure but we’ll be making the rounds of the Dr’s in the days and weeks to come. I learned that the original seizure occurred in the shower so I’m feel blessed that Dad didn’t get injured in there.
I need to buy flowers for the staff.
When I returned from the ER with Dad, I went and checked on Mom. She was sitting comfortably in her room alone, oblivious that anything out of the ordinary had happened at all. When she saw me she proceeded to run down every family member she could think of.
It was a strange list in many ways. She started off by asking me if my mother was alright, to which I answered she’s fine, she proceeded to name my brother and pronounced him fine, she named several of her sisters, many of whom are also dead… and pronounced them fine, and she named several more people, who were actually alive thankfully… and summed it all up with
“… and everyone is fine!”
She’s right you know. We are.

I love proclamations and there’s no better than “Everyone is fine” especially during a day which makes you question just that.
So glad everyone, including you, is fine.

Happy to hear “everyone is fine,” Jo. Keep us posted on what they find out about the seizure. As you know, my brother has seizures and I’d be willing to answer any questions you may have about seizures or terminology the doctors throw at you or resources. Get some rest, ER visits are exhausting!

So true, ER trips are indeed exhausting. I also treated myself to come comfort food (burgers and a shake).

Nice, encouraging post, Jo. This period of everyone being alive at the same time is interesting. I always tell Mary her folks are just fine, too. And, of course, they are, as they live on in her heart as well as her mind.

I am glad things have settled down a little, Jo. Please get some rest now, and keep us informed.

Hi Jo,
I’m glad your Dad is doing okay. I continue to love reading about your conversations with your parents. Your calmness and love is such an example and inspiration to me – thank you.
I hope this week-end is uneventful for each of you. Thinking of you all.

Jo,
Glad to hear that everyone is fine.
Or as fine as can be.
An anxious trip to the ER is exhausting. Walking away with little to no answers makes it worse.
I hope you were able to rest comfortably afterward and the week end, as Bette said, is uneventful for you all.
