Happiness Project: January
Jan 2 2012 in Caregiving Happiness Project, Denise's Blog by Denise
In January, our action word for our Caregiving Happiness Project is Remove.
With the holidays behind us, let’s look at what’s in our way (in our house, in our relationships, in our life) and then remove it (or them). For me, I’m going to remove:
1. My worries.
2. My doubts.
Removing what gets in your way means you can see new possibilities, find new solutions, move to a healthier day.
Please share your action plan for January in our comments section, below.
(Would you like to join our Happiness Project, now in its second year? We’d love to have you! Just go here to join.)

Thank you Denise! I look forward to our monthly ‘action words’.
I want to remove the word “wait” from my caregiving vocabulary.
I generally see a need and think that waiting to address it or find a solution – or implementing a solution…is a good choice. It’s not a good choice for my mother or for myself.

I do enjoy our Happiness Project.
Here are the things I am going to remove this month:
1. The year’s worth of magazines that I never looked at last year.
2. A number of videos and DVDs and donate them to the library. (Removed them today, now just need to donate them.)
3. Five pounds from my body.
4. Excuses for not getting things done!

Everything in my apartment that I haven’t looked at in a year, including books that I always think I’ll reread or get to and project materials that will never be used. This is Pare Down Year. This includes (and I have to put this in writing or it will never happen) all my Carol Burnett videos!

I am going to “re”-move all the stuff in our garage back down to our basement (now that the little critters have left) to make room …we pray…we hope…for a van for Greg.
I am also going to work on removing the frustration I have with a relative (out of state) that just does not seem to understand that paralysis means really means for my husband that he can’t walk.
