This Summer, What’s Going Well?
Jul 18 2012 in Denise's Blog, Your Caregiving Journey by Denise
Last night, our call-in show episode aired on Your Caregiving Journey. We shared answers to this question: What’s going well this summer? You can listen to our show via the player, below.
If you couldn’t make our show, I’d love to know your answer. In a time that seems like all is going wrong, it can take a bit of thought to find one thing that’s going well. When you find it, please share in our comments section, below.

Some of what’s going well for me this summer is easy to articulate. Other things are harder.
Easy to articulate: I picked up noise-canceling headphones that let me listen to my MP3 player while I do yard work. Weed-whacking my yard takes 2-3 hours at a stretch, and being able to listen to music makes my job so much easier! It cuts through the boredom and lowers my stress. And I’ll take all the stress-busting I can get.
Harder to articulate: For all of the things my partner is going through, I believe our communication continues to improve. It’s the kind of process that becomes more difficult (catharsis, confabulation, logorrhea), but that I think is helpful and healing in the long run. So it’s exhausting for me, but worth the exhaustion, and therefore it falls into the “going well” category.
