New Talk Show, Chat, We Break for Summer
We’ve been busy working behind the scenes which means!!:
We’ve got a new segment for Your Caregiving Journey, a 24-hour chat, new features in your account and in our groups, and a special week, We Break for Summer!, coming up.
Here’s the 411:
Caregiving Quiz Show: We’re launching a new segment on Your Caregiving Journey–a caregiving quiz show. Each episode, three family caregivers will go against each other in to win prizes and, most important, fame. The players will answer questions relating to current events, caregiving responsibilities and Caregiving.com. Our first Caregiving Quiz show will air Sunday, September 2, at 8 p.m. ET. Subsequent shows will air every-other-Sunday at 8 p.m. ET, alternating with our #carechat on Twitter. So, on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, you’ll either have a Twitter chat or a talk show to attend.
Send me an email if you’d like to be a contestant on our Caregiving Quiz Show.
We’ve also got a tweak in our talk show schedule. Our live call-in show will move to Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET, alternating with our Hot Topics show. Our new schedule will begin on Wednesday, September 12, when our next call-in show will air. So, on Wednesdays at 8 p.m.ET, you’ll either listen to a call-in show or a Hot Topics show.
New Features: You’ll note that your profile includes an ability to add photos and videos in your updates. You also can include photos and videos when you post an update to our groups. Each group now has its own calendar; I’ll post days and times of our talk shows, chats and special events in the calendar of our General group.
And, speaking of chats…
Chat: We’ve added a 24-hour chat which you’ll see on the bottom right-hand side of the website. In order to chat with other members, you must log in to your account. (Not a member yet? Join here; it’s free!)
We’ll have a moderated chat for new members every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET beginning September 4. Both new and old members are welcome to join myself, Bette and Jane as we help new members find what they need on the site and introduce them to other family caregivers.
We’ll keep you posted as we add more moderated chats for our various groups.
And, feel free to invite the friends on the site you’ve made to join you in the chat room. So, if you see other members are active on the site at the same time as you, just send them a private message inviting them to meet you in the chat room for a visit. If you organize a regular chat for your friends, let me know and I’ll set you up so you can chat privately. You can contact me by visiting my profile and sending me a message.
Our chat is unmoderated so feel free to report any member who engages in inappropriate behavior. To report a member, just visit the member’s profile and click on “report user.”
We hope you’ll enjoy being able to connect with other family caregivers on the site at any time of the day or night. And, if you’d like to be a moderator for the chat, please let me know. I would love your help!
We Break for Summer: Finally, We Break for Summer begins Sunday, August 26. I’ll pose a daily question relating to summer; when you answer in our comments section you’ll be entered into a chance to win one of our daily prizes. Our We Break events are always fun and often prompt you to think about a situation in a new way.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I’ll continue to keep you posted on new features.
