Mom’s Update

We just had a follow up with the heart doctor on Thursday and received great news. Mom was given the OK to extend her pacemaker check up from every four weeks to every four months and she is now running five times straight with her Coumadin levels being in the “Excellent” range. They are all extremely impressed with her recovery.
The scars have all healed amazingly well as has her attitude, overall health and humor. I have been impressed with her and her bounce back attitude since 1983-1984 when, from being a stay-at-home mom (caring for the three of us) her whole life, divorce took her into the working world to which she went back to school and retired from a State job. She’s had a stroke, heart attack(s), (three) knee surgeries, fluid on the lungs surgery and a double valve replacement surgery.
And she now is making blankets for a local kids shelter.
Come on–what’s not to admire?

She’s a pretty awesome lady and I’m fortunate to know her. She’s one tough cookie and you’ve been with her every step of the way. You’re a wonderful son!

Richard–That’s great news! You’ve got to love it!
I love the attitude. This sounds very much like my mom. Doctors always say attitude is 95% of the equation.
So glad you are blogging here.

Hi Richard–Such wonderful news! There’s so much to be said for the “I can” attitude. And, it’s an attitude you both share.
So glad you’re blogging.
