In Six Words, What’s Your Dream?
In 2005, Adam Greenberg took his first at-bat in the major leagues as a player for the Chicago Cubs. What would seem to be a dream come true turned into a nightmare; the very first pitch hit Greenberg in the head and caused a significant head injury.
A Cubs fan took on Adam’s cause to get him another chance to stand in the batter’s box. Last night and seven years after his injury, Greenberg suited up as a Miami Marlins and took another at-bat in the Big Leagues. He may have struck out but he felt like he hit a home run. You can watch Greenberg discuss his big night this morning on the Today Show here.
His message? Never give up on your dream.
