Wow, Life Is Busy

Hey everyone, man it has been so busy lately. The second half of September I worked on a construction site remodeling our church. It was from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. So I would do everything for Mom and Dad. I would go do that. Check on them. Then go to school and back to the site. I was so tired from that.
This whole year my dad has been falling down and passing out. On the 5th of October he passed out five times. So I took him to the ER. They put him in the hospital. His BP would not come up. He was in the hospital in a town 60 miles away. So my mom and I had to go back and forth for 14 days. That was so hard. They took him off three meds and he was able to leave.
Well I got him home and then he couldn’t breath. So I called his home health that I set up while he was in the hospital. They came and listened. So back to the ER. They did a chest x-ray and now he has pneumonia. He has taken a whole antibiotic and didn’t get any better. So he is on another. I hope this works but the other two times with pneumonia he had to do the IV meds. He also got a ulcer on his butt from being in hospital and them not turning them.
So I am doing so much more. I have class on Tuesday and Thursday ALL day. My mom is having a hard time with her dementia. Especially when dad is sick. I am soooooo worn out I could drop. I have not a second to breath.

Oh, Amy, I can only imagine! The exhaustion is not from the physical toll of your day but also the emotional one. It’s a lot to managing the needs of your folks plus worrying about them and what they need.
Do you have regular help now from a home health agency?
And, do you like school so far???

Hi Amy,I can well understand the stress you r going through.i went trough the same thing last months with my mom in law..pnemonia developed due to being fed while on bed in a laid down position.to add were the bed sores.but don’t worry with good medication things improve.god bless you for taking such good care of your parents.

Hi Amy,
I’m so sorry for how draining this is on you.
You mentioned a Home Health Agency – are you able to have them in each week? And, I was wondering if there is an additional time (even for two hours) that you could add them. I’m sure you worry and rush while you are away from the house.
You are doing amazing things! Caring for your parents, school and helping your community. Please try and have time to just sit when you can.
Thank you so much for writing this update – I think of you and your family often.

Amy, I am so sorry for all this hitting you at once. I agree with Bette — I hope you can get some respite time where you can just sit and breathe.
