Music to Comfort
Dec 23 2012 in Denise's Blog by Denise
Today, on CBS Sunday Morning, Bill Flanagan of MTV shared songs which can bring hope and solace. He recommended:
- Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”;
- Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”;
- The Beatles’ “Let It Be”;
- James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain”;
- The Melodians’ “Rivers of Babylon”;
- Bob Dylan’s “Every Grain of Sand.”
I would add:
- “Lullaby” by the Dixie Chicks;
- “Next Year” by the Foo Fighters;
- “In the Sun” by Michael Stipe and Coldplay;
- “In My Life” by the Beatles.

All day today (12/23) Hearts of Space (www.hos.com) is streaming for free its program “Angelico,” which is filled with sacred choral music. That brought me a lot of comfort last night.
