Hi Everyone,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve been here, and I’m sorry! I have missed you.

Life has been kind of a roller coaster over the last few months. I traveled almost non-stop throughout the fall, leading up to the election (I’m a journalist who was covering politics).

Then – seemingly out of nowhere, I had an awesome opportunity to come back to my hometown and accept a position as an Executive Producer at a TV station I worked at 10 years ago – the same station I grew up watching.

So, we moved! It’s so nice to be back home where we are surrounded by my family, and can enjoy perks like my dad building wheelchair ramps!

We are just starting to get settled into our new routine. My new job includes working an overnight shift, so that has been a big adjustment. My husband was working part time, and unfortunately because of that, we lost our Medicaid benefits, so I was having to do full time caregiving duty on top of moving and starting a new job and all that and it was a little, ahem, INSANE.

But, we have finally hired someone to come a few days a week to help him with his bathroom stuff, so here I am upstairs in my little nook having some alone time! I’m so excited to be able to breathe again!

I so appreciate being able to connect with all of you! I remember when I was first starting out on my caregiving journey, I felt so alone. I never feel that way anymore, and it really does make life so much easier.
