A Moment to Share or Rainbow Reflections
When I went out to “Wish Upon the Star,” it was too early. But I was surprised with one of the most spectacular twilight skies I have ever seen. Looking out from my porch, which faces the ocean only a few miles away, I saw a magnificent rainbow. A rainbow like I have never seen. Both breathtaking and stunning; it was nearly a full circle rainbow. Two-thirds of the arc was visible above the horizon and the colors so vivid they could have been freshly painted. From my perspective it appeared to span a distance of about six miles; I could only imagine its glory had I actually been at the beach. I’ve always been taught that a rainbow is a sign of God’s blessings on us.
As I turned to go back inside I looked to my left. The show had only just begun. To the west was an evening sky painted with the most splendid of colors. Near the horizon was a brilliant, sunburst orange that illuminated the sky; what appeared as a few feet above, the beginnings of the grey clouds of night. The clouds had a luminous glow from the setting sun near the bottom. In between these two colors was a layer of a bright, radiant turquoise. Turquoises so vivid, so shimmering like you sometimes see only in nature, in the ocean or at seaside. A wave of peace and joy flowed over me as I stood spellbound, gazing at the wonder of my evening sky.
My words do not do justice to what I witnessed but this I know I wanted to share the experience with you. Sometimes in the most unlikely way, the most unexpected times, when we need it the most, a special moment happens. I wish a special moment of peace and joy to all of you.
