We Break for Fall: How Will You Add a Healthy Habit?

paintings-autumn-season-bridges-lakes-HD-WallpapersIt’s tops on our list: Eating right and exercising. But, somehow, as the day (and days) go by, it stays on the list but not in our life.

So, today, how will you make a healthy habit a part of your day? And, how will you make it easy on yourself so it really becomes a habit you fell into?

We’ll choose a daily winner from those who post an answer; today’s winner will receive a $20 Starbucks gift card donated by @kreisr1 and his website, PickYourPain.org. Congrats to Janet, who won yesterday’s gift card.

I am going to break this month “after returning from the cruise” and start back into my workout program and diet. After all our September/October issues I finally feel close to 100% and ready to get back to biking, walking more and back on my diet. “I WILL” reach my goal of 180 lbs before 1/1/2014 even with Thanksgiving’s and Christmas’s eating fests.

I don’t exercise. Daily chores and caregiving feel like a work out as it is. I realized after my husband’s recent round of hospital stays that my back hurt less when he was there. Try as I may to rationalize that it is all the bending and lifting I do for him; I believe its the amount of walking. We all know the lengths of all those hallways in every hospital. The parking spaces, well we all know they’re somewhere out in the north forty no matter what time we show up. So, instead of opening the door for our dog Charley to go out; I’m going to put his leash on him and walk him 20-30 minutes each evening before dark. I think Charley will be happy about this too. The cause of less back ache will be revealed!
