Save the Date: Virtual Caregiving Conference on March 30

Our Virtual Caregiving Conference Is Sponsored By

virtual_caregiving_conferenceFor almost two years, I’ve been talking with some of our members (@trish @kreisler @g-j @jbones1961 and @thpurplejacket) about organizing a caregiving conference. Each year, in our Annual Family Caregiver survey, you say that you want a caregiving conference in your community. We love the idea of hosting a conference but how to do it so we reach as many family caregivers as possible?

I’m participating in a virtual summit next month which led to a solution. We do virtual chats on a regular basis. Why not a virtual caregiving conference?

So, mark the date for our very first Virtual Caregiving Conference. Our conference will feature family caregivers and members of CareGiving.com presenting their best caregiving tips, coping strategies and solutions to help other family caregivers. Our focus will be on providing practical tips which will make your caregiving days easier.

It’s a conference the features family caregivers that’s for family caregivers. You can watch the live conference in the comfort of your home. And, we’ll create an archive of the conference so you watch the conference as often as you want and need. (If you’re a member of CareGiving.com, I’ll share details about how you can present in Monday’s member newsletter.)

We’ll keep you posted on details, including details about our presentations. In the meantime, we’re looking for sponsors for our caregiving conference.

Be sure to save the date–our conference will happen March 30, 2014.

Hi @denise? Would this only be for those caregivers who work or can anyone participate? I would love to attend but I am retired. Thanks! Gail Kroll

Hi @Gail — This is a conference for anyone caring for a family member or friend. It’s for you if you work or not, if you care from a distance or care in your own home. It’s for you if you care for a parent or spouse or child or grandparent or any other family member or friend.

It’s for every family caregiver. :)

Maybe in some way @denise? We can have a place to make a criteria for who should get the caregiving scholarship for someone who works and cares for someone too at this conference. Like a survey to fill out or essay questions to answer? Is that far off the mark? I don’t work so Mom and I take care of each other usually! Mom’s getting weaker though so I guess I am the caregiver but I have no idea how anyone can do it while working. I am in awe of these people and wish them recognition!

Denise, I’d like to sign up. I think it would help me. I’ve been on a little more, need to get up with more caregivers though.

Do I have to buy the membership to participate in the conference and the chats? I really don’t have the extra funds at the moment, but I miss them. Let me know please.

Hi–The conference is open to all (our members and our visitors). The chats are a benefit of membership. Send me an email (denise@caregiving.com) if you’d like to take advantage of our scholarship program, which helps defray membership costs. :)
