A Miracle: CareGiving.com Will Continue (Phew!!)

flower-108685_640The sun came up today.

I just finalized a deal to be acquired by an exciting health care company focused on creating a new incentive platform for family caregivers.

With this acquisition, we stay together as a community, I have a job (a paycheck!!!) and we all have access to a team working to create new ways to support and help you. Initially, you won’t see any changes. We’ll keep you posted about any changes that will happen.

The new company enables health plans and medical providers to recognize the importance of the family caregiver in the care management coordination ecosystem. You play such a critical role in pharmaceutical adherence, providing daily activities of living and bringing good cheer to your carees. All of these efforts play a role in keeping your caree as well as possible.

Our goal is to bring the 50 million plus family caregivers into a community of respect, continual learning and mutual support, which lines up perfectly with my goals when I began CareGiving.com.

I will continue to keep you posted on the acquisition and what you can expect from us going forward.

In addition, because I no longer have the worries about how I’m going to pay the bills, we can move back to a free membership. (Members: I just emailed you more details about this.)

Most important, you all made this possible. Your notes of support and encouragement on Monday created this opportunity. Thank you so much for sticking with me and for being such an amazing, caring community.

What’s most amazing about this is that you all will be a part of what we hope will be a game changer in the health insurance space. Your involvement now will change how caregiving happens. You can be the difference.

We often talk about family caregivers as disrupters. We now have the the funding, support and tools to truly make lives of family caregivers much, much better.

    Dearest Denise,
I would really like to keep up the life coaching sessions too. Will they be available to us also? YOU made the difference for us all. I truly was at a loss. YOU truly were at a loss. We were God Blessed. Thank everyone for their prayers.
Thank you Denise for keeping the Faith for us! You made this all happen. Without you? This never would have.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
    With much love,

What wonderful news Denise! I am so happy that you will be able to continue helping others maintain their physical as well as mental health through their caregiving journeys. If the CareGifters program will be continued, is there any way that the refund from my annual dues be channeled to there? That would be my preference.

    Thanks, and congratulations!

Agree with dogmama. I’m not looking for a refund of my membership, but would love knowing that it can be channeled to wherever it will do the most good. – dj

It just could not get any better. You so deserve this with all you have done for so many over the years. This is a major triumph from the little seed you planted so many years ago. To be recognized and acquired by a healthcare company; you/we are being heard. We get to stay together and hopefullly you get your own address! Congratulations! Can’t wait for the next episode of this journey with you. Here for anything, anyway I can assist. You, my friend, are the heart of this community.

Wonderful news on so many levels! Not only does the community stay together, but your work and the work of caregivers receive major recognition and support. This is a win-win-win all around. I especially hope you get some much-needed breathing space to truly nurture yourself, as we learn through each other to nurture ourselves. In line with TDM and darciejane, please apply the rest of my membership fee to support the community as best you see fit (thanks!).

Hallelujah! Prayers answered! There is nothing better than to hear that you, Denise are doing what your mission has been all along! I don’t even want to think about a refund (haven’t read emails yet) so apply the rest of my membership fee to support anyone here as you see fit! I am hoping you will have your own address and cute place for us to see in the next video chat! There’s so much more to say but I just Love how this adventure is continuing for all of us.

A sigh of relief from this house too. I’ve come to grow quite fond of this site over the last year! So wonderful you are staying in business. This is a vital addition to our lives–glad someone is helping to see it continue!

Can’t think of any better news I’ve had in ages. You deserve this Denise!! You’ve been an inspiration for all of us. I wish you nothing but success going into the future! And yaay for those of us who have relied on this site for friendship, comfort, information… it’ll still be here for everything we’ve come to need.
I don’t want a pro-rated refund of my membership. I’m sure someone can use it more than me. Please find a good use for it.

So glad to get this news.

I’ve been thinking about something you said Denise about Caregivers being disrupters. That is certainly true. We can ill afford to take status quo, out of sheer survival we have to inspire and initiate change…

But this episode you’ve just undergone makes me also think that we Caregivers are ALSO the exact opposite of disrupters.

We’re the fixers, the healers, problem solvers, we’re the receivers and workers of miracles.
we live the unimaginable, the unforeseeable,
we achieve the improbably, make the impossible look routine.

It’s not for the faint of heart, this path that we walk. But those of us who find themselves on it, we can expect the unexpected. As can you…

    our Caregiver to the caregiver.

How awesome is that??? I read both entries at once and am sooooooo glad it turned out this way!
