On March 9, we began our latest initiative through our CareGifters program–to send $500 to Casandra, who cares for her husband, so she can pay her bills.
On March 10, I was able to send Casandra $485.20. This morning, I sent another $168.41. In total, we raised $653.61.
Thank you all so much for your generosity. Since I launched our CareGifters program in 2011 in order to help family caregivers in need, we’ve helped 12 family caregivers by sending them a total of $6,153.61. We helped Kristin buy food and shoes; we helped Janet pay for home care so her husband received the care he needed as she recovered from surgery. BreeAnna used the $500 to build a ramp so her mom has easy access into the house. We helped Teri take a trip with her terminally-ill husband to see their son. With the $500, L’Tanya hired a closet organizer so her mom could enjoy a clutter-free environment. And, Gwyn used the $500 to hire help to care for her mom while she worked.
We operate our CareGifters program through The Center for Family Caregivers, our non-profit organization. Your tax-deductible donation helps us Embrace, Employ and Empower Family Caregivers. You can make a donation to help our work, below.
