Your Truth and The Team No, I'm too busy. No, I don't know how to do that. Or, just: No. When you put yourself out there to recruit your team, you're running into a regular risk that you'll be rejected. Ouch. That can hurt. Look at the "No's" you receive in a different light. Think of a "No" as simply one step closer to a "Yes". It's like you're moving through a crowd; you have to push past lots of people to get to where you want. And, remember the "No" isn't about you. It can be that, truly, they can't help. It could be that they are afraid to help. It could be that they don't know how to help. Graciously receive a "No" ("I understand. Thanks for considering my request.") and gracefully move on. And, when the "No's" seem to be building up, take a break from recruiting. It's okay to take time to lick your wounds. You're ready: Recruit away! You're one step away from landing a star, just like you. Staying Resolute in the Face of Rejection
