I would like to Thank Denise for her article reflecting my wife and myself as a caregiver. I never thought when I was entering that I would win!!! It is an honor to win both the award and to take care of my wife who is a spectacular woman. I am not very good with words and Denise made wonderful use of my words and sentiments. I would like to Thank my wife, whom without her I would not have had this opportunity to shine.

I feel honored, and humbled, to receive an award for something I am doing which is often the natural course of events in anyone's life; that of caring for my sick husband for the past six years. His illness is Alzheimer's disease and the battle belongs to us both. That's what marriage is all about. Our vows said, "In sickness and in health....," and AD is so much more than a bad cold. Thank you for this honor.
