I haven’t had time to garden, and in fact, abandoned the garden about two years ago when my mom came to need 24/7 care. Being in the garden and close to nature is so life affirming for me. We don’t have time for gardening anymore either, Heidi. I bought some hanging planters for the wraparound porch, where we spend a great deal of time. And my husband insisted that we have two tomato plants. This is the first year we have done nothing to the grape vines and they are going gang busters. Go figure!
When my own Mom started requiring 24 hour care, whenever she would receive a plant as a gift or when I would buy plants I put them in pots. I am able to bring the pots in and set them on a plant stand if they are in bloom. This last spring I had two beautiful azaleas that I brought in the house so my mom could enjoy them.
