About Me

My 84 year old mother has lymphoma and has recently required a hip surgery due to a worn out and infected prior hip replacement. She became very weak and has required much help the last two months. I have two sisters, but only one who lives in the same community as my mother and myself. I have had chronic health issues myself for about 8 years and this is the first time mom has needed so much care. My oldest sister has been able to help a great deal with mom, and I have been able to do some of the simpler tasks. I wish I could do more, but I have to remember that I can only do my best. This is a challenging time and has negatively impacted my own ability to function as my energy levels are easily depleted. It’s hard to balance my needs and her needs. I am thankful for my more healthy siblings and their efforts and also for what I am able to do.
