My Story

42 year old single guy caring for both parents since June 2009: mother, hemorrhagic stroke, hemiparesis, expressive aphasia; father, CHF, diabetes, dementia.

Also, for what it's worth, I've spent time working in nursing homes and work as an EMT.
My Top Three Wishes

1. That my father's abusiveness would disappear.
2. Aside from complete recovery, of course, that my mother would regain her speech.
3. That I would never again have to watch an episode of The Price is Right or Wheel of Fortune. ;)
My Top Three Concerns

1. I don't know how much longer I can do this. Taking it day by day.
2. Father tends toward abusiveness toward mother (and others).
3. Wondering if continuing PT/OT/ST with mother is having any effect after two years.
