Start Online, Then Hit the Sunshine

While you find yourself housebound, start thinking of life outside of caregiving by going online and exploring the opportunities to socialize and learn online:

  • Yahoo! has an online discussion group for any talent, interest or idea you will want to discuss. Visit Yahoo.com and click on “Groups.”
  • Fathom.com: From Columbia University, Fathom.com is an online learning archive, including lectures, articles, interviews, exhibits and free seminars. You can find additional online resources from Columbia University at www.columbia.edu.
  • Gov Online Learning Center: http://www.golearn.gov/: Federal government’s e-learning initiative, free and for-fee classes for professional and personal development.
  • OnlineLearning.com: Take (and teach!) and online class; web site offers courses accredited by U.S. and Canadian schools.

The Internet opens a world to you; it’s great to explore which corner of the world works for you without even leaving your house.
