When I began to plan this year’s Fourth Annual National Caregiving Conference, I decided that I wanted to elevate your experience with us, whether you join us in Chicago or virtually. I want you to feel a change during NCC19 so that you leave us with new insights, purpose and knowledge. Our NCC19 Preliminary Agenda reflects that commitment to delivering a difference for you and to you.
In particular, the sessions in our two-day track called “Advocacy & Policy Track for Family Caregivers: Empower. Act. Transform.” reflect that drive to create change. Lisa B Capp and MaryAnne Sterling, both former family caregivers and both multi-year attendees to our annual conference, have created an amazing track that will inspire you to action.
You’ll feel especially empowered to make an impact when Elisa Camahort Page takes the stage at NCC19 on Friday, November 8, at 3 p.m. CT. Elisa, whose session will be part of our free virtual broadcast, will deliver a presentation called “Tools for Everyday Activists.” Elisa will share her practical and actionable method for building a road map to making advocacy and change-making sustainable and fulfilling lifelong pursuits for anyone, regardless of ideology, capabilities, or available free time in their day. She’ll cover this five-step method and offer tips on how to be a more effective everyday activist as part of a busy life.
Elisa is best known as the co-founder and COO of women’s media company BlogHer, Inc., which was founded in 2005, sold in 2014, and where Elisa stayed until 2017. She is now focused on speaking, writing, and consulting with entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and organizations who are looking to do better, be better, communicate better, and collaborate better. She is also the co-founder of the Ternstyle Group consulting group and a founding mentor with the Mentor Bureau.
Her debut book, Road Map for Revolutionaries: Resistance, Activism, and Advocacy for All, was published by Ten Speed Press on September 18 and was an Amazon #1 New Release. A hands-on resource guide to activating around the causes you care most about, #RoadMap4Revs features contributions and/or endorsements from such diverse activists and advocates as Gloria Steinem, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Patrisse Cullors, Soledad O’Brien, Ricki Lake, Guy Kawasaki, Bobby Jones, and Carla Hall.
Elisa’s guiding principle is that Innovation+Empathy>Innovation+Efficiency. Find her at: https://elisacp.com and https://ternstylegroup.com.
Elisa also will join a panel discussion called “The Power of Storytelling in Advocating for Change in Caregiving” on Saturday, November 9, at 10 a.m. (This panel will not be part of our live broadcast.)
We’re thrilled and honored that Elisa will join us. We’ll be over the moon when you are with us, too. Register to join us at NCC19 in Chicago or virtually. Early-bird registration closes August 31.
