Join Dr. Lindquist for the following session during our Third Annual National Caregiving Conference:

Updates in Geriatrics to Help Caregivers Advocate for their Loved Ones on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m.
Ensuring seniors receive quality health care and benefit from the most up to date clinical research is of great importance to their caregivers. It is difficult for health care providers to read every publication relevant to their patients’ needs. Sometimes, patients and/or their loved ones will bring printed health articles or news clippings to the attention of treating physicians for consideration. This presentation will provide information on the most important advances in geriatrics and the health care of older adults published recent years. In addition, ways of advocating and negotiating with the health care team will be discussed to ensure implementation of evidence based healthcare and that seniors and their caregivers receive the best quality health care.

Dr. Lindquist is a Geriatrician and the Section Chief of Geriatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, IL. She is a graduate of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and has also completed her Masters in Public Health and MBA from Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern. She has lead multiple research studies focusing on supporting caregivers and enabling older adults to successfully age in place. She is federally funded by PCORI, NIH, AHRQ, and CMS. Dr. Lindquist has been published in many diverse journals both in the medical and non-medical realms. Most notably, Dr. Lindquist has been sought as an expert for the New York Times, Harper’s, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, and multiple other regional sources. Appearing on CNN, MSNBC, and national syndicated talk shows, she has been tapped by multiple news sources to cover health topics related to aging. She is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who among Women, and has been selected for the First Edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders which features 25,000 men and women under the age of 40 who represent the best of a new generation of leaders worldwide. On a personal note, she has first-hand experience being a caregiver for her grandparents who had Alzheimer’s and who moved in with her.
