Amanda’s husband, Joe Clark, had just been diagnosed with colon cancer and their lives and young love were changed forever.

The couple started the blog, Cocktails & Chemo. The name was inspired as their dirty martini dates quickly changed to chemotherapy appointments. The blog became a place where they could share their fears, worries and dark humor about the reality of cancer and caregiving.

Amanda became a widow at 30 and with a baby in her arms she knew she wanted to carry on her husband’s legacy. Cocktails & Chemo, the blog, was turned into a non-profit that supports caregivers. Amanda works tirelessly to change the narrative for caregivers to know they need care too. The organization sends care packages, hosts events and sends big dollar grants to help take the stress off of caregivers sacrificing their lives taking care of the people they love.

“Caring my my husband was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Yet, it was the greatest honor of my life and I’d do it a million times over again," Amanda says.
