She is a speaker, writer, and educator on the challenges of family caregiving, dementia, person-centered care and technology. She is a Patient Research Partner and Ambassador for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), bringing the voices of patients and family caregivers to medical research. She also serves on the Global Patient and Family Advisory Board for The Beryl Institute, in addition to being a 2019 ePatient Scholar for Stanford MedicineX. MaryAnne is EVP of Caregiver Experience at Livpact and Co-Founder of She is based in the Washington DC area.

We will link Our Amazing Difference conference theme to Policy and Advocacy transformation opportunities by defining and understanding our individual caregiving pain points. Our experience and our expertise in caregiving is powerful knowledge to start a movement! Who knows better what needs to change than current and former family caregivers? This presentation segment is a primer and is intended to be built upon through the balance of the Policy and Advocacy Track.

Panel Discussion: Meet me where I am: Help me understand what policies impact me

We’ll introduce the Continuum of Care concept to differentiate stages and needs that span the caregiving journey. Using your input in the 2017 Annual Caregiving Survey, the 2018 Working and Caregiving Survey and the 2019 Policy and Advocacy Survey we will highlight the everyday care issues you identified and the mismatches that define possible opportunity for policy and advocacy transformation.

Fitting Together the Pieces from our Policy & Advocacy for Family Caregivers
Saturday 3 p.m.
We'll summarize the two day Policy & Advocacy track sharing tips, tricks and opportunities for all caregivers (both current and former) to get involved at any stage of advocacy and activism to improve the lives of all caregivers!
