21st Birthday Party: Have Fun

0
Every day this week, we’re celebrating Caregiving.com’s 21st birthday with activities and prizes, including grand prizes which include a free seat at an upcoming Certified Caregiving Consultant training program and care packages which include sessions with two of our Certified Caregiving Consultants.

Today, we’re celebrating by taking time to have fun.

At some point today, do something fun, even if for only five minutes. You could take a break to play a game, enjoy your backyard, listen to your favorite music. However you define fun, take time today to enjoy it.

Then, share how you had fun in our comments section, below. I'll choose a random winner to receive “Recipes for Success: Activity for Alzheimer’s at your Fingertips,” a 4X6 album filled with activities including activity recipes, personal stories and helpful tips by Julie Bigham. Julie works in Life Enrichment with a large CCRC in Charlotte, NC. Previously, she worked as an Activity Professional in long term care, assisted living, and memory care, and asan HR Associate in Organizational Development, and Training and Education Coordinator for in-home caregivers. She holds a BA in Missions, a certificate in Gerontology, and has facilitated Alzheimer's care training for professional and family caregivers both at home and abroad, providing Alzheimer's training on the mission field to caregivers in Mitchell's Plain, South Africa.

Today, let’s have fun.

Life hasn't been much fun lately, I have been so overwhelmed with caregiving. Today I actually lay down on my bed and colored for awhile as my mom napped. It was actually very relaxing and these days, relaxing is fun!

I did 2 fun things today. The 1st fun thing was planning a birthday party chat where presents to share would be \"gratitude\" and \"appreciation\" . The 2nd fun thing was starting a quilted wall hanging, from a landscape panel I was given at a customer appreciation night at our local quilt store....it was just fun getting lost in creative moments throughout the day. Thank you Caregiving.com for celebrating your birthday with us for a whole week!

That sound like lots of \"fun\"!
