22nd Birthday: Take a Risk

Every day this week, we’re celebrating Caregiving.com’s 22nd birthday with activities and prizes, including a free seat at an upcoming Certified Caregiving Consultant training program.

Today, we’re celebrating and breaking to disrupt our destiny by taking a risk. It could be a little risk or a giant one. It could be saying “hello” to a stranger or confiding in a trusted source what’s been weighing on your heart for way too long. It could be saying “Yes” to an action or a relationship which terrifies you because it moves you out of your comfort zone or saying “No” to an action or relationship which no longer fits in your life.

Tell us about your risk in our comments, below. I’ll choose two random winners to receive one of our daily gifts:

  • Free three-day registration and a discounted meal package for a family caregiver or former family caregiver to our upcoming Third Annual National Caregiving Conference which takes place Nov. 8-11 in Chicago;

  • Our Caregiving Comfort eBook Pack which includes PDFs of Denise’s books: “The Caregiving Years, Six Stages to a Meaningful Journey,” “Take Even More Comfort, Reflections of Hope for Caregivers” and “After Caregiving Ends, a Guide to Beginning Again.”

I’m looking forward to reading your fun facts!

(Would you like to give back? We’re raising money to send 10 family caregivers in need to our Third Annual National Caregiving Conference. Your donation (any amount helps!) can give those who care a caring break. Thank you for whatever you can give!)

Risk...I am going to work (again/still) on saying \"no\" or \"not now\" to family situations that are not in the best interest of my immediate family circle (husband/mom) right now and not taking responsibility for trying to make everything okay with everyone. And, I'm going to work hard to continue to open up and share the heavy heart moments with my trusted chat family and seek their support and wisdom.
