28 Ways to Show the Love: Get Me to the Conference

Michelle, who cares for her husband, and Jenn, who cared for her grandmother, connect at our Second Annual National Caregiving Conference.

Each day in February, we’ll share a way that family members and friends can help the family caregiver in their lives. (A family caregiver is an individual who cares for a family member or friend, just like you.) Through our campaign, we hope to create awareness of what family caregivers do and how others can help.

Today’s tip comes from me; I help my parents and an aunt: Help me get to the Third Annual National Caregiving Conference on November 9 and 10 in Chicago.

Why this tip is important: Connecting with others who understand helps lessen our loneliness while connecting us to support and resources. When I'm with others who get it, I just feel better. Help me get the conference by organizing respite care for my caree and springing for my hotel room. I'll return home refreshed and recharged.

(Have an idea you’d like us to include? Email your idea to Denise and include an explanation of why your tip is so important.)
